There's nothing quite like an illness that lasts two weeks (and counting) to make me painfully aware of how much I take my health for granted. I've been going through the classic stages of a cold for a while and at this point I've settled on a chronically sore throat.
The combination of being uncomfortable, busy with holidays and busy with work has put a real damper on my meditation efforts over the break. I've still been reading my Spiritual Bypassing book and taking the time to think it over as I go. I find reading books like this without taking breaks between chapters really kills my retention rate. You gotta hold these new ideas up to the light of your own beliefs and see how they play off each other. Otherwise, what's the point?
I'm planning to do a show about new years resolutions, goals and intentions once I'm back on my feet. I don't think it's going to happen this weekend, but look for a new Striving sometime next week and then the usual show next Sunday.
